More housekeeping...

A couple of cards, one for Mother's Day, using My Little Shoebox paper and miscellaneous embellies,
and another for no particular reason but to say hi! This was a favorite piece of paper from, like, YEARS ago, that I loved so much I just kept hangin' on to the scrap. Jazz up the flower outline a bit with some Stickles, add some buttons. bling and some alpha stickers and you have yourself a pretty easy card!
And then a couple of layouts from awhile back....
This one was from a 3 Scrappy Boys kit. Decided to add some interest to the dot paper with some basic doodling. Love the photos of Youngest B as he says hello to the Goldeyes mascot. Or is Goldie the one saying the hello?
I also love these photos of Oldest B taken at various times with his little cousins. The title quote says "Nothing is so strong as gentleness and nothing is so gentle as real strength."
Thanks for popping 'round today! Leave a comment so I know you called!

Housekeeping...

So. My computer calved. Seriously.

The tech was called in and when he opened it up, a small, wet, hoofed creature came out. No wonder it hadn't been working so well.

I've decided to name her Daisy. Original, I know.

But the point is I've had to shop for, and buy a new computer. Which is a task I am not overly fond of. I think I'd rather hot wax my whole body every day for a month. I'm not overly fond of it that much!

Well, the new iMac sits in it's freshly tidied spot on my scrap table, and in the spirit of tidying things to get ready for it, I've extended the tidying to other areas of the room. You might suggest that it's just procrastinating the several deadlines I'm faced with. And, you'd be absolutely right. But the side benefit of that is that I have several things to show you that have till now, been buried under other things.

Here's one of my daughter and her bff. Who lives on the other side of the world in the complete opposite time zone from us. It's very sad. For us. She seems happy enough there though with her lovely hubs and cute-iful baby boy. But we're very lonely for her so we comfort ourselves with making layouts about the two of them from when they were together.

More tomorrow. I must go fetch some warm milk for Daisy.

Two. Count 'em, TWO! exciting things today....

First up is the My Little Shoebox Heartfelt blog hop!

Now, you should have arrived here from Nicole's blog. If you've just happened here by chance then you'll want to start back at the beginning, at the MLS blog!

Heartfelt is the latest line MLS has released and it's a bit of a departure from the usual "look" of MLS, but *drooooool* it is so gorgeous to work with!!

Add to that yumminess, we all used this sketch by our own Melinda Spinks for inspiration!
This here's the layout I did. I used that fun Mr Huey (white) to mask the background paper, put the flower shaped die cut through the Cuttlebug embossing folder, and distressed the edges of everything. Basically.
Next stop along the hop is Pattie's blog! And if you follow the hop all the way to the end and back to My Little Shoebox, leaving feedback along the way, and then make your own layout based on this sketch and link it up back at My Little Shoebox, you'll get the chance to win your very own Heartfelt collection! How cool is that?! Deadline is June 5th.

And now for the 2nd thing on the agenda!! Want to make your own stick pins?
Or put a different twist on some of the extreme excessiveness of embellishments you have? And no I'm definitely not saying that like it's a bad thing! Options are always good.
Head on over to Crop Suey to see my tutorial on these fun pins!

So, mark it on your calendars to check back here on Friday! My Little Shoebox is showcasing their newest line, Heartfelt, with a DT blog hop!

And, just to whet your appetite, here's a peek of what I did for the hop!

As well that day, I'll be posting a nifty little tutorial over at Crop Suey. Yeah, Friday's looking to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

New challenge!

It's time for another challenge!
Head on over to Crop Suey for the May Song and Dance challenge!

Here's the layout I did for this. You know the song..."as our lives change, come whatever, we will still be friends forever...."

I think you'd have to have a heart of stone not to get

a lump in your eye or

a tear in your throat

when you hear that song and see anyone dressed in a cap and gown.

Am I right?

As well, don't forget the challenge going on over at My Little Shoebox! You have until May 16!
